18 week pictures!!
I promise you that my belly does not start at the very base of my chest. I just picked the wrong shirt to wear for this round of belly pictures. I had to stretch it from the top so it would cover my entire torso... So, here you have them.. 18 week belly pics. (my favorite part about this: I can still fit into my jeans -minus the top button)

Update!
This weekend is supposed to be the peak of the fall colors, so be on the lookout for some colorful bump pictures this weekend! :)
Only 11 more days until we find out the gender!!! SO EXCITING! The baby has been moving in a peculiar way today. It feels as if s/he is swimming laps, or bouncing off the sides. Who knows! I can't wait until the ultra sound to see her/him in action.
Another craving: This morning I woke up wanting, tasting, and obsessing about a Philly Steak and cheese sandwich from Chartreouse Caboose in KC. I had to settle for Subway's version which was ALMOST as good.

Foooooood
Here are my two favorite things:
1. Cinnamon Rolls with Orange Glaze (HEAVEN!!!!!!!!!!)

Really?? A boy???
Okay, I need to not take the poll that seriously... but a boy??? This little person has me seriously confused. I know dreams are not indicators of pink or blue, but I had the most vivid dream about a little boy about a week ago. He had on little denim overalls, crazy brown hair, HUGE eyes, and I just knew he was mine. And then last night I had dreams of braiding long brown hair and painting little toe nails. I just honestly DO NOT know. It will definitely be a surprise either way on the 29th. Please keep voting!! It'll be fun to see what the outcome is! I think you can vote more than once too, so if you are like me and have changing opinions - vote everyday! :)
Boy or Girl.. this little one is on the move. S/he goes like a mad woman for about a half hour after I eat, and then settles down. If I am a little bit late for lunch or a snack, she'll definitely let me know. Funny stuff!

Holy big belly, Batman! EEEK!
Somedays I wonder if I will ever shrink down to the size I was before getting pregnant... or even close! I feel GIGANTICLY swollen today.. my hands, feet, belly, face, EVERYWHERE seems HUGE! I have included a picture of what I looked like a few short months ago at Dara's wedding (July 17th to be exact):
I have what appear to be shoulder bones....
And then on September 19th at Tracy's wedding:
What a HUGE difference 8 short weeks make!

Exciting News!!! 09.30.08
So last night started as a pretty normal night. Jon picked me up from work, we went out to dinner for all you can eat ribs, and then went home to watch tv and play Guitar Hero. We went for our normal night time walk with Maggie, but this time, we walked a LOOONG way. We took our normal route, and then decided to walk to the lake. It was there where Jon presented me with the most beautiful ring I could have ever imagined! I think my heart beat out of my chest.. it took me awhile to catch my breath. What a night!
I am truly blessed to have Jon in my life, and I can't wait to see what our future holds! (we at least have a little sneak peak at ONE aspect of our future.. :) )

It's been awhile 09.26.08
Sorry I have not updated the blog in quite some time. Things here have been abnormally crazy. I started a new job on September 15th, and getting back into the swing of things has been rough. The baby is just draining every ounce of strength that I have! I find myself getting tired after a few short hours of being awake. It would be perfect if I could take a 20 minute nap for every 4 hours I have to keep my eyes open!
Other than that, s/he has been growing right on schedule according to the doctor and my rapidly expanding waist line. We have just finished our 14th week ---- and FIRST TRIMESTER! Sometimes I think this is just going by way too quickly.
Our next appointment is on October 8th. We'll get to hear the heartbeat again, and I am so excited!!! Jon's aunt Janelle is going to mail us a little recorder from a scrapbooking company called Close to My Heart. That way, we can put it in her little baby book. How special is that!
Last weekend was our trip to Boston for Jay and Tracy's wedding. It was the first time I got to meet all of Jon's extended family. What a fantastic weekend filled with great people, great food, and great scenery. Our trip was short (Friday-Sunday), but it was so much fun. I'll post pictures soon!!! (I promise this time.. not like the Chicago post that still does not have any pictures up)

First Picture...09.14.08
This is the first ultrasound... just a little one! :) It was taken awhile ago, but thought we'd share it!
We heard a Heartbeat!!! 09.12.08
We had our second prenatal appointment on Wednesday evening, and we heard the little heart beat! It was very strong and beating 160 beats per minute. It was very clear on the doppler, and I couldn't have been happier! We were also able to schedule the appointment for the ultrasound to determine the sex of the baby!!! Mark your calendars for October 29th! Our appointment is at 6pm, so the blog will be updated as soon as we get home!!
We were also able to ask a lot of questions that we've had the past four weeks since our last appointment. Our doctor, Dr. Diestelhorst, is just so great. I am so thankful to have a very good doctor!
Last weekend, we registered at Target and Babies R Us. I know it's probably a little early, but we were looking in the baby department at Target, and it was just too tempting not too. We had a lot of energy at Target, but Babies R Us was pretty much LONGEST 3 hours of my life! Holy cow that store is big!!!!!!!
I have to document what happened in the wee-hours of this morning. I believe it was sometime between four and five in the morning, when I apparently rolled over and asked Jon to go to the store and get some corn, bread, peanut butter, and jelly. (I have NO recollection of this) I am finally awoken by the sounds of sandwich preperation in the kitchen. He had got up to make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Of course I was thrilled because I was STARVING, and thought he had read my mind. Little did I know, I was blabbing about food in my sleep. I have the best man in the world!

Baby!!! 09.03.08
We have hit a milestone! I am no longer sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday was the first day I woke up feeling great, and continued to for the remainder of the day! We even went to Chicago and saw the sites. Jon, Maggie and I walked for a good 5 hours around the city, and had a blast! I will post pictures of the day soon.

What a shock this has all been! On Thursday, July 17th, 2008, it was confirmed that Jon and I are expecting a little sidekick in March!
Since that happened, I have had a full range of emotions. I can feel my insides stretching and that is the weirdest feeling on the planet. There are no words to describe the little twinges and pulls other than absolutely breath-taking. It just amazes me how I am carrying a CHILD inside. Safe and protected from everything. I've already grown so much in love with this little creature; I can't imagine how it's going to be when she's here! I think my heart will just explode!
I have to say that I have the best partner EVER to go through this with. I can't imagine a more perfect man to share this experience. Jon is in one word: Amazing. AND! In approximately three days, we'll be in Milwaukee together. Time simply can not go fast enough...
We have our first appointment on Monday, August 11th at 1:15. I am so excited to see just how far along I am. My belly has already started to protrude a little bit, and I'm afraid I may be farther along in this process than originally expected. We'll soon see!!
